TODAYS SPECIAL: Lamb tenderloin with zucchini pasta and tomatosauce

I try to only eat organic food and when I found that the wonderful brand Superbra had extended with a new product range of great sauces I was superhappy!
They already have risotto and müsli. The brand has a great logo, a wonderful story and fantastic people. And best of all, everything is organic, supertasty and healthy.

I made lamb tenderloin with zucchini. The innerpart of the zucchini with the seed was scraped out and sauted in butter, the rest was slized thinly and had the water pressed out of it before it was mixed with the Superbra tomatosauce.

Tasted Superbra!

EMILY HILLER: Sculptural design

A friend of mine wrote about this fantastic designer, and her production is worthy more attention.
Emily Hiller is a London based textile designer, specializing in the traditional technique
of Macrame, but taking it out of it´s normal context.
After taking a BA in Multimedia Textiles at Loughborough University she went on to do a
MA in Fashion at Central St Martins College of Arts & Design.
She has since worked on a range of different projects ranging from designing garments for
London Fashion Week to designing window displays in Topshop.

I love designers and artists that finds their favourite techniques and then are able to lift them
from their normal range of application into a sculptural world. And Emily Hiller is a great representantative of this.
Very on trend, working with a old craft style but taking it to the next level.

TODAYS DONATION: Skatepark for Ethiopian Kids

As the first project in my Donate Today project I gave 60kr (10USD) to a project to build the first ever skatepark in Ethiopian history. I will donate 10 USD 10 times a month to contribute to share and distribute wealth in the world and to give some love to awesome projects.

Ethiopia Skate was started by Abenezer Temesgen & Sean Stromsoe in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Here is what they say:
We are in the process of establishing a non-profit organization and have collected an international team of skateboarders and organizers to help promote skateboarding in Ethiopia.
We just want to skate.

We plan to build Ethiopia's first mobile mini halfpipe and move it around the city over the course of 2 weeks. We will teach local kids the basics as they crowd around the ramp. We’ll then put the ramp at accessible location as we build the first ever skatepark in Ethiopian history. We will pass out at least 100 skateboards to youth organizations and local children as well as start manufacturing our own decks. This is only the beginning.

MEMO TO SELF: Kolbein Falkeid

PRIVAT HUSKEREGEL

Du skal ikke klistre fine øyeblikk
opp på veggen i tankene
og forgylle dem med lengselen din.
Du skal kjøre spettet
hardt innunder arrete hverdager
og vippe dem opp. En etter en.

Det er derfor
livet har deg på mannskapslista.

FUN: New picture on LucyandBart!

.

From their website:

"LucyandBart is a collaboration between Lucy McRae and Bart Hess described as an instinctual stalking of fashion, architecture, performance and the body. They share a fascination with genetic manipulation and beauty expression. Unconsciously their work touches upon these themes, however it is not their intention to communicate this. They work in a primitive and limitless way creating future human shapes, blindly discovering low – tech prosthetic ways for human enhancement."

And they rock!

DESIGN: Tord Boontje - Inspirator

Today I revisited Tord Boontjes website, and found that I had to share his wonderful lamps. He
always makes very elegant designs, and is very material-conscious. He can make anything from small, low cost pottery, to eleborate one of a kind wardrobes in the 1.5 mill euros pricerange.

The idea behind this lamp is to use the simple lightbulb and cord as a base for compelety different expressions. This is playful, but mature, elegant, simple, beautiful and inspiring.

Tord Boontje is todays Inspirator.

ICON: Anaïs Nin

In my Icons series I now want to draw your attention to the wonderful, freespirited, strong, sexual but sometimes sad Anaïs Nin, or Angela Anaïs Juana Antolina Rosa Edelmira Nin y Culmell as her full name is.

According to her diaries,Volume One, 1931 - 1934, Nin abandoned formal schooling at the age of 16 and began working as a model. Later she shared a bohemian lifestyle with Henry Miller during her time in Paris. This relationship inspired Philip Kaufman to make the very erotic movie Henry & June.

On 3 March 1923, in Havana, Cuba, she married her first husband Hugh Parker Guiler (1898-1985), a banker and artist, later known as "Ian Hugo" when he became a filmmaker of experimental films in the late 1940s. The couple moved to Paris the following year.

Nin appeared in the Kenneth Anger film Inauguration of the Pleasure Dome (1954) as Astarte, the Maya Deren film Ritual in Transfigured Time (1946), and in Bells of Atlantis (1952).
In 1947, at the age of 44, she met and began living with Rupert Pole (1919-2006), sixteen years her junior. On 17 March 1955, she married him at Quartzsite, Arizona, returning with Pole to live in California. Guiler, remained in New York City and was unaware of Nin's second marriage until after her death in 1977.

I was at my Mums house on the west coast of Norway for a whole month this summer, and I found amazing light and colour. Great pictures to look at a rainy day in Oslo...

MASHALLAH DESIGN: Sculptural sweaters

Berlin-based Mashallah Design & Linda Kostowski have created items of clothing by scanning human bodies and using the data to create sewing patterns. The human form is turned into 3D patterns of polygons, which are then turned into 2D files and used to laser cut fabric. The project was on show at Create Berlin during the London Design Festival earlier this month.
